Maths results 2

I think that this is a much better way to present my scores that I got in the test instead of confusing percentages because this way you can actually see what scores out of ten that I got.

My maths results

This is a pie chart with all my maths results on it.  We had to answer ten questions everyday of the week and then times it by 2.  So since I got ten out of ten for the whole week I had to times ten by two and that is how I got all my percentages. I don't think that this is the best way to show my results.

Why you should go to New Zealand for your holiday

New Zealand and Alaska are wonderful places but I am going to tell you why you should go to New Zealand instead of going to Alaska for your holiday.  New Zealand is a great place to have a family holiday because the first person to climb to the top of Mount Everest was born her,they also have an amazing rugby team called the All Blacks and their are lots of native animals and birds here for you to look at.  There are 4,433,000 people in New Zealand and only 731,449 people in Alaska which means more people come to New Zealand instead of going to Alaska for their holiday.

The first reason why you should go to New Zealand is because Sir Edmund Hillary was born right here in New Zealand.  Sir Edmund Hillary was an explorer and a mountain climber.  Sir Edmund Hillary was born on the 20th of July 1919.  Sadly Sir Edmund Hillary died on January 11 2008.  Sir Edmund Hillary was best known for being the first person to climb to the top of Mount Everest with his guide Tenzing Norgay.

Another reason why you should go to New Zealand is because of their great rugby team the All Blacks.  The last world cup was In 2011 and that was the second time the All Blacks had won All Blacks won the rugby world cup.  Before the 2011 rugby world cup New Zealand won in 1987,the first ever rugby world cup,against France in New Zealand just like they did in 2011 and in 1995 we came 2nd against South Africa.

The last reason why I think you and your family should go New Zealand is because New Zealand have lots of native birds and animals.Some of the native animals and birds in New Zealand are the Tuatara, Weta, Yellow Eyed Penguin,Kiwi,Pukeko,Quail,North Island Robin,Magpie,Gannet,Fantail and much much more.  There is lots of bush walks all around New Zealand that you and your family could go on and you would find a lot of these animals there.

If you visit New Zealand I think that you will have the time of your life.  You shouldn’t ever miss an opportunity to go to New Zealand because I think that New Zealand is the best place for a great family holiday.

The wolf in the Wardrobe

Recently my class read the book The wolf in the Wardrobe.  This book is about a boy named Finn who finds an injured wolf but he doesn't want his Mum finding out so he hides The wolf in his Wardrobe.  He decides to name the wolf Lupa.  He thinks that he could hide the wolf forever and nobody would notice but what he doesn't know is that cackles the clown is watching him.

I would say that this book should be rated 4 stars.

If you like books with mysteries then this could be the book for you and if you also like action stories with awesome adventures in it then this is definitely the book for you.

This book has been written by Susan Brocker a person who absolutely loves animals.She has also written saving Sam a story of a boy and a dog,Brave Bess and the ANZAC Horses is a true story of an amazing horse also Dreams of warriors is a World War Two tale about a teenage girl and an unusual friendship.

My trip to Taupo

HONK!!! “That sounds like Dad” I say to Mum as she hops out of the shower.

“Is all our stuff ready” corbyn asks me curiously

“yes It is” I reply back to him.  

“C'mon kids we have a lot of stuff to do before we go” Dad says to us

“but we haven’t had breakfast yet” me and my brother says back to Dad.

“Ok we will just have to have

HONK!!! “That sounds like Dad” I say to Mum as she hops out of the shower.

“Ok we will just have to have Mcdonalds on the way there” he says back to us “YAY” we say back to him.Mum chucks all our stuff in the car and says

“good bye”.

As soon as we left Mum’s house we went straight to Mcdonalds me and my brother got our favourite breakfast meal.My brother would always have 2 hashbrowns + a hot chocolate and I would always get a bacon and egg  mc muffin without the egg + a hot chocolate.

After we got Mcdonalds we went to a house that my Dad was selling so he could show some people through the house.After that we went to pick up Dad’s girlfriend Melissa and her son Kane so that they could come with us to taupo.After a hour of driving kane,Melissa and I were starting to feel car sick so Dad pulled over and Kane went outside and he threw up in the grass.

Once we got to taupo Melissa suggested that we should go shopping when Dad really wanted to go to the pools so that he wouldn’t be tired on the way home.Dad decided to go shopping first and to go to the pools later.It took us ages until we got to go to the pools because Dad and Melissa wanted to go have a look in every single shop there was down each street.

“How long until we get to go to the pools” I say to Dad

“this is the last shop ok then we might go to the park” Dad replies back to us.

As we walk into the shop I spot something out of the corner of my eyes that I have been wanting for ages and they were here.

“ hey Dad can I get these suspenders?” I ask Dad

“ how much are they?” he asks me back

“ just four dollars and corbyn said that he would give me three dollars”I say to him

“ok then” Dad say to me

As we walk up to the counter corbyn and kane find something that they both really want, a bow and arrow.Once we walk out of the shop Dad takes us across the road to the park.

Once we had finished playing at the park Dad thought that It was time to go to the pools.So as we got to the pools I accidentily dropped my braces on the ground and steped on them and broke them I was so sad.As we walked through the doors we saw a sign that sai that the water slides and the spas were clozed so we decided to go to debretts.

“woah it  is so awesome here” I said to Dad.It  was so awesome there because there was a playground that shooted out heaps of water.There was also an awesome water slide called the dragon slide.

On our way home Dad didn’t make us feel sick which was good because we had eaten a lot. on the way there” he says back to us “YAY” we say back to him.Mum chucks all our stuff in the car and says

My Mum

“ THE WII IS MINE”.Whenever I hear that funny sentence that Mum always shouts in her loudest voice me and my brother always start laughing so loud that the whole neighborhood might hear us.  My Mum normally doesn’t come into school to pick me up because she blends in with all the kids.  With her blue jeans, puffy black jacket and her blue and pink scarf you would think that every day she was going to see the snow.  Her hair is black with tiny strips of brown in it.  She has eyes the color of hazelnuts.  Although she cleans my smelly guinea pigs cages out she always smells like her favourite perfume.

My Mum is very sweet.  She is a very supportive especially when it comes to my sport and school work.  At my soccer she is always there to support me.  Mum always cheers for me on the sideline at my soccer games.  Whenever I’m stuck on a maths question or any other subject she would always give me clues to help me get the answers.

“Hey where is my coffee” Mum says this when she is looking for her coffee like normal.  You will usually find her coffee in the microwave where she has left it while trying to heat it up.  Sometime you will find little drops of milk on the bench where she has accidentally spilt the milk while trying to make a coffee.

Once she takes you through a tour of our house you instantly know that she absolutely loves animals.  You can tell that she love’s animals because she has four cats,one dog,two fish,one bunny rabbit and nine guinea pigs.  I can tell that she loves art because in her room you will always find pictures that she drew,pictures that she panted and lots of art books.  A couple of years ago Mum entered a competition and the winner got a free wii.  A couple of months after she entered that competition someone called her telling her that she had won a free wii.  Ever since then Mum always kept saying a funny sentence that made us giggle and that sentence was “THE WII IS MINE”.

A couple of weeks ago Mrs Morton taught us some art techniques for when we are painting pictures.These are the techniques.

We had to learn each step at the same time otherwise none of us would know what to do.She also taught us some different types of lines. These are the types of lines that she taught us.













About a week after Mrs Morton taught us the techniques, Mrs Roil gave us a picture to paint using our techniques that we learnt with Mrs Morton.












This is what my artwork looked like after I painted it using all the techniques and different types of lines.

I’m not quite finished because I was away when they finished but I did most of it with the rest of the class.

The Catch

 This is so boring when am I going to catch something?  Ooh I've got a bite. I actually have a bite. I feel excited but disappointed at the same time!  Oh what a tiny fish. How is this gonna feed my village?  This won’t even be enough for me and  I am so hungry.

”Woof” Hey what was that?  It sounded like a fox.  I jumped up in excitement.  Hey, it is a fox and it’s in some sort of trap. Hmm I wonder what I should do.  Should I kill the fox or should I let it free?  I think that I will let it free and see what happens after that.  Ahh!!!  the fox looks like it’s going to attack me I feel frightened and scared hoping that the dog won’t attack me AHHH!!!

Phew. I stood up feeling relieved that the fox didn’t attack me but where is it going now?  I curiously look around and see that fox in my basket with the fish in its mouth.  Hey, don’t you dare eat that fish!  Don’t you dare eat that fish.  Hey come back here with my fish. I need that for my village.

AHHH!!! How am I gonna get past all these prickly vines?  What shall I do?  Should I go through or just give up and tell the village what happened?  I know what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna crawl under the vines and get my fish back.

Oh a mountain!  Seriously, this is going to take me ages to climb but I’m so hungry.  I better stop complaining and start climbing or I’m never going to get my fish back from that annoying fox that stole it from me. I’m so angry I just want my fish back.

Finally half way up the very tall mountain. My only hat.  Oh no now I've lost it ARRR!!!  Okay now I’m super angry at that dumb fox.  He doesn't know what’s coming for him.

I’m at the top of the mountain.  Now where did that fox go?  There it is.  What is it doing? Hey, why did he chuck the fish away? I needed that for my village. Ok, I’m really confused now.

What is that bright light? Woah! It’s a huge lake. I am so amazed and I can’t believe that I was fishing in a small,little,tiny pond when I could've been fishing in this huge lake.  That fish is humongous.  I’m completely shocked.  I didn't even know that you could get fish that big.  Now that would so feed the whole village.  Wow little fox, I guess you’re not so bad after all.  Thanks little fox you helped me feed the whole village.  Here, have this fish to say thank you for helping me.  Bye.

Hey and one other thing, hey, where did you go little fox? Oh never mind.  As soon as I walk into the village everybody saw the huge fish I caught and started clapping and cheering for me because I caught the biggest fish they had ever seen.  My mum gave me a new hat too.

Master Chef at Camp Kaitawa

On Wednesday the 29th of May at Camp Kaitawa we had to make all our food all by ourself in our camp groups,the teachers all called it Master chef. It was going to be just like the T.V show except no one would get eliminated and we got to work in groups.

Breakfast:For breakfast my team made a delicious pancake face.For the mouth we used peaches,for the eyes we used 2 small pieces of pineapple,for the ears we used another 2 small pieces of pineapple and for the hair we used honey. Milly,J.J and Kharn made the pancake mix while me and George made the jelly so it would set in time.What we did was put pancake mix into a bowl,add 1 egg and add some milk then had need to mix all the ingredients together and slowly and carefully.  We spooned a little bit of the mixture into a pan then we waited till the top of the pancake started to bubble then we flipped it over. We waited till the other side was cooked then we let it cool down a bit.  We put it on a plate put the mouth,eyes,ears and the hair then we put it beside our team name and waited for it to be judged.  We were all hoping to get a really good score.

Lunch:For lunch we made sausages and noodles with french toast to the side.To make this we used 2 packets of 2 minute noodles then we put them in a pot of hot water and then we let them cook for 2-5 minutes next we started cooking the sausages in the pan until they were crisp and brown while kharn was making lovely french toast.After all that cooking we finally plated up our dish and waited for the dish to get judged we were all hoping to get a good score.

Dinner:For dinner we made meatballs and mashed potatoes with honey glazed carrots to the side.First we got out the mince and George started rolling it into balls then Milly and J.J started peeling the potatoes and putting them in the pot while kharn was peeling the carrots and dipping them in the honey and putting them on the judges plate soon everything was on the plate and was ready for the judge to taste again we were all hoping to get another good score.

Dessert:For dessert my group made Jelly with peaches and pineapples in it and we also made instant pudding.First we put the instant pudding into a bowl with some water and then we started to stir it next we went to check if the jelly was set we were all glad that it was set in time.So we grabed out the jelly and put it on the judges plate so that it was ready in time next we checked if the instant pudding was ready and luckly it was ready so we grabed out the instant pudding and put that on the judges plate but as soon as we had finished the judges said that the dessert was not gonna be judged so J.J ate our judges food and the rest of my group ate the left overs.

Yesterday John Roil came to talk to us about bush safety.He told us about what we needed to survive in the bush and what the rules were in the bush and here are some of them.

Before you go tramping you need to tell someone where you are going so they know where you will be and where to look for you if you are lost.You will also need to tell someone when you will be leaving and when you will be back incase you aren’t back when you said that you would be so that people would look for you after a while.You should never go alone when you go tramping because it can be very dangerous.

Before you go you have to get your shoes broken in so that they are good to walk in.You will also have to a lot of training before you go because if don’t you will probably have to take lots of rests and it will take you longer to get to your destination.

If you don’t have a compass you will have to know which way is North,East,South and West.Here is a clue the sun rises on the west side and the sun sets on the east side and moss only grows on the south side.

Just remember all this information before you go into the bush so that you will be safe.That should tell you how to survive in the bush.

My Birthday

Finally everyones turned up look at all my presents I can’t wait to open them all hey where is everyone.I hear Mum say “they're all outside playing” then I go outside and tell everyone to come in but they just want to stay outside playing.After a while of asking them to come inside they all finally agree to come in once every one came in I got to open all my presents.Some of my presents were a touch screen phone and a toy horse from my dad,a bop it from cassia,some clay from lily,some chocolate and some blingles from hannah,a mug full of freddo frogs from caroline,$20 from maggie,a big horse sticker and some jelly joiners from poppy and a sylvanian family bunny family,a sylvanian family cottage and a sylvanian family hamburger restaurant from mum.

Glow Worms

Glow Worms

Glow worms are amazing creatures that look like worms and have the ability to glow that is where they get there name glow worms from.Non of the worlds glow worms are actually true worms

To find a glow worm you would have to usually have to look in dark damp caves,tunnels,river banks and in old coal mines sometimes they will be under houses.

Glow worms usually snack on small midges and all sorts of flying insects that get stuck in there sticky webs,including mayflies,caddisflies and even moths.

Glow worms look a little like worms but they are not actually true worms.The glow worms body shines a shiny bright light that lights up their entire habitat.

After reading this I think that now you know all you need to know about glow worms.

For maths today me,Rhys and Samuel had to make a 3D school.It had to have 9 different buildings and they were rooms 1 & 2, library,a shed,rooms 3,4 & 5, room 6,room 7,the toilets,an office,and a staff room we also had to put in a shaded area where they could eat their lunch and a play ground.

On  Wednesday the 20th of march  miss hind told us that we had to make a net.Miss hind said that our net had to fit 12 or 18 of the cubes bellow.I made two nets a small one that fits 12 and a big one that fits 18.

AHH that’s nice just relaxing in the ball bucket waiting for someone to pick me hopefully that will be never.Hey there's a bowler coming to grab a ball oh no what if he grabs me.Oh please don’t pick me please don’t pick me.Wait I change my mind now I want to be pick because it's the last game of the season I think. YAYYYY he picked me. OK so here we go again hey this guy doesn't have a sweaty hand now isn't that just great. Yay this is my favourite part where I feel like a Ferris wheel WEE. Oh Oh AH H I'm so gonna die this time.SMACK AHHHH. Hey a soft landing that's quite different.Oh man I went into the stands hey put me down you freak oh come on I'm a cricket ball I bet you have a small backyard that is way too small to play cricket in.Then I hear the commentator say we need a replacement ball for next years season.Then I realise that my stitching has come undun well I guess that it’s the end of my cricket career so bye forever folks.
