Balloon in a bottle

Is it possible to blow up a balloon in a bottle? Well, if you want to know the answer to that question this explanation will help.  In this explanation, I will tell you the materials you to do this experiment, how to do it and a little bit about what I did so read on to find the answer to this interesting question.

Materials

• 1-litre bottle
• Balloons
• Cork
• Nail

Here are the steps on how to do this experiment.  First, you need to stick the balloon inside the neck of the bottle.  Next, you need to try and blow up the balloon if you can’t try stick a hole in the bottle then see how easy it is.  

In my class we did this experiment and it was really cool.  The reason why It doesn't work without a hole in the bottle is because there is already air inside the bottle and the air takes up space so there isn't any more space for other air.   Once you put a hole in the bottle, all the air can escape so you can blow up the balloon.

The floating ping pong ball

What you will need:

1. Hair dryer
2. ping pong ball

How to do it:

1. Sit the ping pong ball on the hair dryer
2. Turn on the hair dryer
3. Now observe what is happening

What happened was the ping pong ball just sat floating over top of the hair dryer.  The reason why it worked and the ping pong ball just sat floating over top of the hair dryer is because the air around the outside of the ping pong ball is forcing the ping pong ball to stay over the top of the hair dryer.  The ping pong ball doesn't go straight up into the air because the gravity is pulling the ping pong ball down.

The egg experiment

When I did the Egg Drop the experiment I went first and the Egg didn't completely crack only a little bit but when Kharn did it it did crack which meant that no one else got a turn but they didn’t really mind.  The reason why mine worked is because I pulled the plate fast enough and as soon as the plate and toilet roll out from under the egg the egg went straight down into the cup but when kharn did it he didn’t pull the plate fast enough and the egg dropped on the side of the cup and cracked.
